I was in the car business for 13 years. in about every job at a dealership you can think of on the sales side except detail. Ive also worked at the high volumn high pressure stores that that guy writes about in his article. alot of the article is realistic but some is just plain stupid. as far as the one price stores if you want to get into the business what he didnt say is you can go broke there. I enjoyed my time in the business and I dont regret leaving it for the most part. I did love the pressure both the pressure my boss put on me and the pressure I would put on my employees as well as the customers.
Drop the interest rate to 6.9 percent and the monthly payment dips to $197.54 and the interest to $1,853.05, a savings of $573.09.
Having said that, people with your scores have gotten prime cards with a good history of age, etc. Some prime cards may require further verification. All of my cards are prime, and the last one I acquired one year ago required income verification, etc. after seeing the credit limits on the other cards, etc. despite my FICOs being in the 700's. It had something to do with amount of credit lines in proportion to income, etc. and percentage of utilization. Since that time, I have worked continually on reducing the utilization which resulted from remodeling, medical expenses, etc.
(Paybycash hack credits) One of my friends lived in Hawaii back in 87. He bought a car while over there but a few months later he was transferred back to South Carolina. They wouldn't let him bring the car with him for some reason. He turned the car back in. He never paid the deficiency balance. Well, since then the TL fell off his report due to age. But a couple of years ago it reappeared with a new account number but still listing the date opened as 1987.
